The story of the unsuccessful inventor Rufus was published back in 2012 and came to her finale almost two years later. Then the finale did not seem to people a worthy completion of such a wonderful story. The ending was called, while others continue to be called, merged, compared the game with Mass Effect, there were even strange personalities who represented how the author destroys his creation, like a bat. There is even an article about the merged finals on Wiki, and people usually trust such articles in which Goodbye Deponia serves as one of the examples.

But was it so bad? Why even those who liked the game considered the plot not the best? I’ll try to answer these questions, but since it is unlikely that all three games have passed, I will have to retell the whole plot. And knowing the attitude of the majority, I warn, they will continue to ..

Believe Al, do not believe, but lived in the white world Rufus – a bitch, an egoist and a broken. Rufus was not beautiful, but still sweet, not smart, but not a moron, not rich, like everyone else, on his own. I always did not have work, only one always wanted to, to dump from my native planet to Elysium apartments. Life on the depot – you just hold on. In the district you wander, you will drown in the mud, go on a hike, if you go, you will die from thirst, but you will be forbidden at home, you’ll go crazy from baptism. And now our hero, taking things with him, the calculation, making the faithful, he certainly decided that he would soon not in the garbage sea, but to live between the clouds among the “gods”. He approached the rocket, which was calmly standing, here and the beginning of our history ..

Since Rufus is not the most successful person by nature, his flight ended not quite as successfully as he expected. However, the original plan was fulfilled, and the main character got to the Ship of Ornontsev, where he decided to become a real hero for a beautiful red -haired girl from Elizium – Goel. Quite by accident, Rufus was able to throw Elysian to the side, where he soon, with the help of security, went himself.

Returning to his hometown – Kuvak, Rufus found out that the girl unscrupulous was unscrupulous by him, and the mayor, in between sleep, decides with whom she would live. The main character, of course, is the only one who understands that a resident of Elysium should return home, at the same time taking with himself and his Savior, therefore all the responsibilities of recovering Goal fall on his shoulders.

Having shuffled half the city, Rufus was able to create what would wake his “sleeping beauty”. Poured into the throat, a cup of nuclear espresso was able to wake Goal for a while, and she asked Rufus to contact Clitus – her fiancé. After setting up the postal radio transmitter, the request was made, and Clitus appointed the meeting place – the lower lifting station, from where all three were supposed to go to Elysium.

Having decided to inform Goal the joyful news, Rufus went to the rescue station (hospital, prison, fire department in one place), but there he did not find it and, since not all things were received legally in his pockets, was put under arrest.

At the same moment, the organicians arrived in Kuvak and paid out from the local inspector that Goal had already been given to the care of the recently rich, friend of Rufus – to a monogram. A successful escape allowed our hero to get to Goal earlier than organicians, and an accidental explosion allowed them to successfully break away from the chase.

The only way leading to the place of meeting with Clitus passed through the old labyrinth of mine. The best way to go through these mines, since Goal was still beside himself, was the old mining motorcycle, which Rufus repaired with the help of a nearby Doc – an engineer and a specialist in the brains. Rufus learned from him that Goal can be cured by fixing her brain cartridge, however, the dock can only do this in the floating black market, where our heroes, unfortunately, could not go.

Having overcome the mine, Rufus delivered Goal to the lower lifting station. On the way to the top, where Clitus was waiting for him, Rufus finds out that Klitus actually conspiracy with the organicians who were about to blow up the depot, and for Goal they chased because she found out that the planet was inhabited, and, tell her about this to the Elysians, the explosion would be canceled.

In a personal meeting, Clitus confirmed the previously received information and handed over to Rufus another cartridge, with which Goal would forget about deposit’s dwelling. However, returning to where Rufus left Elysianka, he does not detect her there. The search lead the hero to the boat of Captain Bozo, on which, in addition to Bozo himself, are Goal and Doc. Rufus and the dock repair the cartridge goal, thanks to which it finally comes to her senses.

Going around the organicians, the heroes fall to Klitus, who loses to Rufus in the battle, but tells Goal that her new friend hates deposit with his whole soul. Fearing the anger of Goal, Rufus replaces her cartridge and goes with her to the Elysium, promising the arrived organicians, which will not tell about the habitat of the planet. However, on the way to his dream, Rufus does not withstand the torment of conscience and returns Goal her cartridge. Naturally, the heroine is angry and plants Rufus on the planet, taking Clitus with her.
After an not quite successful escape from the organicians, the beaten Rufus swims on the boat with Bozo and the Doctor.

The fall from the lower lifting station did not add a drop of self -preservation to Rufus, therefore, after a few days, he went to, still rising, capsule, tied to the saw disk. Clinging to the capsule, Rufus planned to get to the Elysium, where he wanted to prevent the destruction of deposits. However, in the collision of the capsule, she became unusable, and the protagonist, along with Goal, retreated to the planet. The rusty sea softened their fall, but the Goal cartridge became final unusable.

This time it was possible to repair the consciousness of the beauty only in the floating black market, where our heroes went on Bozo’s boat. On the spot, all that Rufus had to be done is to buy a new high -quality cartridge, but there were problems with this. Cartridges purchased by Rufus were not accommodating enough for the consciousness of Goel, as a result of which it was divided into three personalities – baby, scuffle and lady. Fortunately for the dock, the reunion operation was not so difficult, but the consent of all three goal was required to conduct it.

From the important thing that happened during the search for the location of the Elysian, we can recall that Rufus found his father. True, it turns out that Sigal, so his name was, in fact, was not his own father Rufus, but only found him in a landfill when he was still a baby. He explained that Sigal was not at Elysium by the fact that all his attempts to get there failed, as a result of which he settled in the black market, where he became the richest man in the city.

Rufus also manages to lead and come up with a plan of action to resist the organ, the head of which had only sent a notes with threats before. Later, this resistance helps Rufus to get to the laboratory of the Doc, which is captured by inorganized crime, led by Donna. By moving over time, Rufus defeats the elderly and inserts the Lady-Gaal cartridge into the head of Donna. It would seem that everything is ready for surgery, but Donna-Hoal escapes, deciding to return to Elysium with Clitus.

The searches of the Donna-Gaul lead the heroes to one of the organic towers, with which they were going to blow up the deposit. The circumstances were so that it was for this tower that Rufus came up with a storming plan, which began just at that time. Having made his way to the top of the tower, our hero meets Lady-Gaal and, as a result of a conversation from the growing into the battle, falls down. The story could end there, but Lady-Gaal could not fly to Elysium and returned to Rufus with two other cartridges.

A few days have gone since the storm of the tower. The whole company quietly and peacefully sailed on Bozo’s boat in Port-Fisco. However, the peaceful life of Rufus was quickly tired of, and thanks to his plan, they soon lost their boat and went on foot along the organ’s line. The hiking led them to the only local hotel called Menetekl. By chance, Clitus with an improvised robot oppenbot drove into the same hotel.

Since Goal had not quite recovered yet, Doc decided that the hotel was not a bad place to complete the treatment, and so that Rufus did not spoil everything, he was sent to look for one “very” important thing. By the same chance, this thing was just at Clitus, and, having learned this, Rufus began to hunt.

Having grown hair to the bald prophet, frozen Bozo, frightening the local bringing, Rufus managed to set, which unexpectedly appeared, Donna on Clitus, and himself, along with Goal, went to Port-Fisco on the organist of the organ. And everything would be fine, but when Goal asked Rufus to straighten the bed, he wanted, as they say, to shoulder. Goal immediately warned her satellite about the cells in each cabin of the cruiser, but it was too late. As a result of a random click on the Goal buttons, it died, and after that Rufus was dropped to the ground, this time with a fatal outcome ..

Hell turned out to be the way it is described: a dark terrible place in which the VA will forever torture. The eternal torture of Rufus was the endless passage of training in the game. After dozens of deaths under the press, the hero began to suspect something and, having died a couple of times, got out to some abandoned factory. A terrible secret was revealed here: a long time ago, someone tried to create an army of clones, but all attempts were unsuccessful until he appeared-Rufus. This “someone” is a scientist named Hermes, or rather his clone. Hermes said that Rufus, Clitus and Argus were the first successful clones on the basis of which the army was created. He also said that he found the corpse of Rufus and cloned it, just as he cloned himself. However, constantly self -global led to the fact that Hermes practically began to fall apart into parts.

This news of Rufus did not touch. Goal died, he can’t get to Elysium, soon the deposit will be destroyed and there is no more hope. Hermes stated that not everything was lost, and this greatly enjoyed Rufus. In a fit of anger, the hero broke the clone car, which is why Hermes ended with him. And it is at that moment that Rufus learns that its creator found the corpse of Goal in the same way.
Taking advantage of the notes, and later reviving Hermes, the hero creates a clone Goal, who, unfortunately, turns out to be a baby and falls into the sewer.

Hermes offers a logical solution, he will sacrifice himself that Rufus has the opportunity to make his three clones, who will find Goali together, help her grow up and save the deposit. So they do, resorting to the help of a vampire-clinos.

During their searches, Rufus meets old many acquaintances, including resistance against the organ. As it turns out, the resistance is now heading Sigal and, as a person not used to playing toys, he decides to blow up Elysium, thereby depriving the destruction of the deposit of meaning. Rufus, naturally, I do not like this idea, and he persuades the rebels to wait until the other Rufus cite Goal – the last hope of a peaceful solution to the conflict.

The only surviving Rufus, in his characteristic manner, came up with a plan for how to get to Elysium. The plan was strange, but successful, and the heroes, along with resistance, fell into the rescue capsule full of organic soldiers. Without going far, Rufus met Argus, a skirmish with which led to the victory of the first. Perfectly playing the role of Beilif, our hero came to the capsule pilot – the head of the organ – to Wilissa. After Rufus, Argus and Clitus come there too. Not wanting to understand, Ulysses launched the destruction of the deposit, which would destroy the capsule, saying that only the well -being of his daughter, whose name was Goal, is important to him.

Realizing that he was a bad boss, he only now learned that all this time he was driving a soldier behind his daughter, Ulysses said that it was possible to cancel the explosion only by the destruction of the transmitter at the capsule engine. Since there is no one else, all three organ clones were sent to this task. The mission was not so complicated, but Argus betrayed the “brothers”, as a result of which they all found themselves in a hopeless situation. Goal came to the rescue, but the clones were too similar. After each fact expressed by Rufus, the other two were mixed and repeated the words of the original. The only way to save Goal was to call Klitus Rufus and release the blades.

Goal understood who was real, but too late. Rufus died, Argus, too, and Clitus had to become Rufus and tell the chapters of Elizium about the inhabitant of the planet.

Although the game is based on its basis, I still think that in isolation from all the jokes, the story becomes a drama. The main plot is tied on the basis of a person’s conflict with a society in which he lives. We are immediately shown that Rufus does not like Kuvak, do not like the garbage surrounding him, he considers himself better than people who lives next to. All this awakens his desire to escape to the best life on Elysium, just as his heroic father did. And even the fact that Sigal actually remained on Dponia, did not convince Rufus.

The main goal of Rufus during the whole trip was Elysium. Yes, at some point he seeks to save the deposit from destruction, but this is due only to his desire to survive. While at Elysium, Rufus would hardly even move his finger for the sake of saving the planet, but, being on the depot, he cannot just allow the planet to blow up the planet with him.

This main goal and distinguishes Rufus from the “hero”. If you recall Shepard, then these differences are more noticeable. Neither the first nor the second hero has a choice, they are obliged to save their world. The only result of the salvation of the world for both of them is its own death. However, what would they do, if they had a choice. I do not think that Shepard could send Normandy to distant Dali and healing there. Rufus could. The only reason why Rufus did not rise to Elysium is goal.

Goal is a key character in the whole plot. Only because of her, Rufus does not fall into Elysium twice. Because of her death, he brings to the death of his creator, and then resurrects him, again because of her. In the end, for the sake of Goal, Rufus donates himself. Not for the sake of deposit, when he hung on the blades, he forgot to think about this planet. This fatal girl affects the hero too much and changes him, but does she seek for this?

As a person, goal exists only half of the third game. The whole first part it is only a body that has revived at the very end. The whole second part we are faced with parts of her consciousness, which, of course, do not reflect a whole person. And only the third game shows us a real goal, but only at the beginning and finale. But then, since Rufus practically does not know Goal, why it becomes so important?

In fact, everything is simple. The character of Rufus does not change in any way for the game. What selfish bastard he was before the game, and he remained at the end. The hero fell in love with Goal, as they say, at first sight, and their adventures only strengthened this feeling. As a typical “lady in trouble”, Goal evoked only warm feelings in Rufus, and the fact that she was constantly unconscious allowed Rufus to be herself, and this is what they advise people before the first date. By the way, the whole second part is several small dates of heroes. For Goal, this may not be important, due to the lack of parts of the personality, but Rufus sought it three times, and all three times were successful.

As a result, by the time the third part, Rufus began finally fell in love, and Goal would have to work hard to get rid of him, but although to varying degrees, their feelings were mutual, and it was because of them that the finale was just like that.

And now, as unexpectedly as the game, we move to the final part.

For the most part, the plot of the entire trilogy repeats the plot of the first part. The main character, striving for his goal, meets a beautiful girl, passes with her through trials, and refuses his goal because of her. If Goal was given more screen time in the first part, and Rufus would have killed in it, then the ending would have raised any questions. A story where a not very positive hero meets love and, for the sake of its good, sacrifices himself, it is difficult to call an unusual name. And, although this is not something new, such a denouement is logical. But at the end of the trilogy, we get the protagonist who was an egoist, but then a conscience woke up in him, he became better morally, and then again became a selfish, and in it, later, conscience woke up again. This is the main problem of completing the history of Rufus – it was already shown to us 20 hours ago. Not that Rufus fed the children of the monster, nor that he sold the black nyashka into slavery, does not spoil the ending as much as its secondary. But why it was impossible to do otherwise?

In search of reviews about the game, I noticed several people who considered that Rufus made too bad. Moments with a pedophile, monster and broken pair show him a finished villain. And this can really be outraged if you played with passage. In the first game, we are told a lot of what Rufus has already done. Theft, deception, murder of dogs, you can find out about all this in Kuvak. Even (possibly) the death of a man on whom Rufus fell off did not awaken any feelings in the hero. Indeed, in the third game, such villains flaunted, but for Rufus this is not something unusual.

One of the laws of good history: “Justice must triumph!”And we are used to this law only leads to a good finale. But the main character of depot is not a good guy. He deceives, steals, rude, his actions lead to the death of people. Of course, during his misadventures, he saves the planet, but this does not compensate for everything that he did.

As a result, “justice” separates Rufus from Goal and Elysium with two egoists as he himself. Whatever the hero does, no matter how he acted, he will not be allowed to come to a happy life, leaving only one path that can restore the universal balance.

Justice triumphed. The happy end should not have happened. The history of Rufus ended, but the history of the world was supposed to continue with another hero, but, alas, there were no new heroes.

In general, for several months I could not continue to go through the third part, all there were any things, and when he continued me so much, that when he was revealed that he was a clone, I did not react in any way, and he himself, too. So do not care about Rufus that when he was at the end “became a man”, I was just happy.

The finale really appears from nowhere, but it seems to me because of the gameplay. Apparently they liked the idea with three ruffus so that the whole fuse was wasted on it. As a result, there was not enough strength for the competent supply. But I was really pleased with this.

And about another hero, it was meant that it was possible to continue and end the story without temporary travels, simply taking the secondary hero to the forefront. It turned out a sort of spin-off, only I do not remember a single character whom I would like to see as a protagonist.

BTV, went through all three parts twice and never has been bugged, only when he passed the first part of half an hour stupid on the railway labyrinth, until I found out that you can move not only the levers. It’s funny that during the overlapping everything was repeated one-in-one.

The game is a maximum of the banter over all the conventions of the genre and at the same time inside the game itself, as it were, the world and characters that react in a seriously. That is, Rufus, the Creator tried to make absolutely rejecting both the world and the player, but for me nothing happened to me. Rufus as a character is primarily not selfish first of all, he is stupid as a stump, but with a golden heart. Apart from 4 parts, he thought only 4 times and all 4 he acted noble. Plus it is constantly repeated that Rufus is not able to change, so he does not need! (Maybe read books except). He is already doing the right thing.

As you yourself said goal on Rufus does not affect the first part in any way, they even communicate only at the end, but nevertheless he could not lie in her face, although it would seem an Elysium, the beauty and then the utopia, but does not return to the planet, which if something does not work out, explodes. At the end of the second (on the basis) the level of lies of Rufus as it seems to me not dull at all, it does not look serious. Well, at the end of the third, he sacrifices himself, of course, first of all for the sake of Goal (and twice), but he climbed onto this rotor himself for the sake of saving deposits, although again to Elysium a stone’s throw.

But the most important reason why Rufus precisely what has earned his “happy ending” not in it, but surrounded, the world and people of deposits. There is only 3 for the whole world.5 people who are capable of at least some actions, but Wiliss wants to blow up the planet, that is, puts the survival of the Elysium above the organ and depot, puts the sigal on the deposit, about to destroy the Elysium, but in the purity of the Argus motif, I generally doubt it, but he also spit on the Elysians, and deposits like mud. And only Rufus does not want to destroy a group and wants to smooth out the corners as much as possible.

The rest of the people are generally just statists in this performance. Fully desperate and clogged deposits, non -zinitative organicians and softened Elysians. None of them hit all games and finger on a finger (although this is also a joke and convention, but inside the world is everything seriously!). He tore the plan for the demolition literally in the very last second (luck, but nevertheless), gave motivation and kicks to resist, in the third, he only adhered to the plan, and this despite the fact that literally, absolutely everyone did not believe in success. But the depot survived.

Yes, he is not a hero in a classic style, but deposit does not have the heroes. There is Rufus and only Rufus, the only one who is because of fame, selfishness, naivety or love, but not only does not care, but also who is ready to move like a tank to his goal without giving up and without despair.

PS. The best proof that only Rufus is capable of acts, I think that for those 2 years at Elysium, knowing that it will collapse (!) Nobody did anything, even Goal (the only thing that was enough for this accusation of Rufus, who generally gave his life for her in egoism 3 times (!)).
